Meet Lance
The osteopath who'll be treating you — his background, his training, and why movement sits at the centre of everything he does.
Trained in osteopathy. Shaped by sport.
I'm Lance Peterson, a GOsC-registered osteopath based in Chichester. I trained at the European School of Osteopathy, where I completed a four-year Master's degree in Osteopathy (MOst).
Before osteopathy, I worked as a personal trainer and sports massage therapist. That time spent coaching people and working hands-on with clients still shapes how I think about movement, load and recovery today.
Sport is a big part of my own life too. I swim, run and train in the gym, and I take on ultra-endurance challenges — including swimming across the Solent in 5°C water and then running 100km around the Isle of Wight in March 2025, and a 35km swim in a 25m pool over 12 hours.
I know what it's like to push your body hard, and how much planning and recovery matter alongside the training itself. Whether you're building towards an event or juggling a busy working week, your sessions are shaped around your goals, your training and your day-to-day life.
I also offer sports massage as a separate service, for anyone who'd like hands-on soft tissue work without an osteopathic assessment.
Registered, qualified, insured
Osteopath is a protected title in the UK — only practitioners registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) can use it.
You can check any osteopath's registration on the GOsC register ↗
Endurance, first-hand
A couple of the challenges I've taken on myself — the same kind of training, load and recovery many of my patients are working through.
