Lance Peterson, osteopath

Trained in osteopathy. Shaped by sport.

Lance Peterson is a GOsC-registered osteopath based in Chichester, holding a Master's degree in Osteopathy from the European School of Osteopathy.

Before training as an osteopath, Lance worked as a personal trainer and sports massage therapist — experience that still shapes how he thinks about movement, load and recovery today.

Outside the clinic, Lance is an active swimmer, runner and ultra-endurance competitor, and trains regularly in the gym. That first-hand experience of pushing a body hard, and of what it takes to recover well, informs a practical, evidence-informed approach geared toward keeping people doing what they love.

Initial Consultation

45 minutes · £75

Your initial 45-minute consultation includes a full case history and discussion of your presenting complaint, relevant medical history and lifestyle factors. Where appropriate, treatment will then take place, and you'll leave with a clear plan for ongoing management or further sessions if needed.

Continuing Session

This 30-minute session is for patients continuing an established treatment plan. Your osteopath will briefly review your progress since the last visit, then carry out focused hands-on treatment based on your ongoing needs. Advice on exercises or self-management may also be given where relevant.

Good to know before you book

A few common questions. If yours isn't answered here, get in touch using the details below.

You'll start with a warm welcome, followed by around 15 minutes discussing your case history — your presenting complaint, relevant medical background, and lifestyle or training factors. From there, Lance will carry out a full physical examination, and where appropriate, this will move into hands-on treatment. You'll leave with a clear picture of what's going on and, if needed, a plan for further sessions.
No referral is needed. You can book directly online, and Lance will let you know if a referral or further investigation would be useful after your assessment.
Arriving in sports or gym gear is ideal, as it's easy to move in and allows a clear view of the area being assessed. During your appointment you may be asked to remove certain pieces of clothing (for example, a jumper or shirt) so Lance can properly see and assess the affected area. You're welcome to bring a change of clothes if that's more comfortable.
Your first visit is an Initial Consultation and runs for 45 minutes, allowing time for a full history and assessment. Continuing Sessions, for patients with an established treatment plan, run for 30 minutes. You'll see the exact duration and price for each appointment type when you book.
Appointments run at Lance's home practice in Chichester (PO18). Full address details are provided through the booking system once you've booked.
Yes — many patients combine osteopathic care with an active sport training schedule, including in the lead-up to a race or event. Let Lance know your training or race calendar, either when you book or by getting in touch beforehand, so appointments can be scheduled around key sessions or events. Where relevant, your appointments can also be tailored around your current training load and goals, to help support your recovery alongside your training.
A receipt can be provided after your appointment for you to submit to your insurer. Please check your policy's requirements before booking, as arrangements vary between providers.
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged the full fee for the session booked. This does not apply in the case of a genuine medical emergency, where evidence can be provided.
