Pain & Injury Guide
Not sure what is behind your ache, niggle or injury? Type what you are feeling in your own words, such as “pain down my leg” or “sore heel in the morning”, or choose the part of the body below. You do not need the exact medical term. Each guide explains in plain English what it can mean, what often contributes, general self-care, when to see a doctor, and how an osteopath may be able to help.
This may need urgent medical help
Call 999 or go to A&E for chest pain or pressure, signs of a stroke (drooping face, weak arm, slurred speech), a sudden severe headache, loss of bladder or bowel control, numbness around your genitals or bottom, fainting or collapse, sudden confusion or loss of vision, or difficulty breathing. A high temperature, night sweats or unexplained weight loss alongside pain should also be checked promptly by your GP or NHS 111. For anything else that worries you, speak to your GP or call NHS 111.
